Cost: Uganda: $700/person; Rwanda: $1500/person

Booking Advice: Reserve 3–6 months ahead, especially during peak season (June–September, December–February)

  • Budongo Forest: Near Murchison Falls. Tracking: $130, Habituation: $250. Giant mahogany trees create a stunning backdrop.
  • Kalinzu Forest: Near Queen Elizabeth NP. Tracking: $130. Fewer tourists, peaceful forest experience.
  • Kyambura Gorge: Known as “Valley of the Apes.” Tracking: $100. Trek through deep gorges and lush canopies.
  • Bulindi Forest: Community-based conservation. Tracking: $100. Supports local families and offers intimate wildlife encounters.
  • Kibale National Park: Rich chimp habitats. Tracking: $150–$200 per person.
  • Gombe Stream NP & Mahale Mountains (Tanzania): Tracking: $70–$100 per person.
